Spill Policy and Training Instructions for BC Moving and Storage Ltd 

At BC Moving and Storage Ltd, we are committed to maintaining a safe and clean work environment for our employees and customers. As part of this commitment, we have implemented a Spill Policy and training instructions for treating spills. 

The policy states that all employees must immediately report any spills that occur on company property or during company operations to their supervisor. Employees must also take immediate action to contain and clean up any spills, using the appropriate materials and equipment. 

The following training instructions must be followed in the event of a spill: 

  • Identify the type of spill (e.g. oil, chemical, biohazard) and take appropriate precautions to protect yourself and others. 
  • Contain the spill by using absorbent materials, such as absorbent pads or booms, to prevent the spill from spreading. 
  • Clean up the spill using the appropriate materials and equipment, such as spill kits, neutralizing agents, or disposal bags.
  • Dispose of any materials used to clean up the spill according to local and federal regulations. 
  • Report the spill to the supervisor and document the incident, including the date, time, location, and type of spill. 

All employees will be provided with training on the Spill Policy and instructions for treating spills and are responsible for ensuring that they comply with the policy at all times. All employees are expected to demonstrate knowledge of the Spill policy and instructions for treating spills through training and testing.
