No Idling Policy for company Trucks

At BC Moving and Storage Ltd, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of our business. As part of this commitment, we have implemented a No Idling Policy for our 5 ton trucks.

The policy states that all drivers of 5 ton trucks must turn off their engines when the truck is parked and not in use. This includes when the truck is parked at a job site, at a rest stop, or at the company’s parking lot.

Exceptions to this policy may be made in the following circumstances:

  • When the truck is being loaded or unloaded
  • When the truck’s refrigeration unit is in use to maintain the temperature of perishable goods
  • When the driver is taking a legally required break
  • When the truck is being serviced or repaired

All drivers of 5 ton trucks will be provided with training on the No Idling Policy and are responsible for ensuring that they comply with the policy at all times. Drivers who violate the policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

By implementing this No Idling Policy, we aim to reduce emissions, save fuel, and promote environmentally-friendly practices throughout our company. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the environment and create a sustainable future for all.
